Published by William Heinemann, London,1907. Publisher's original green cloth lettered in black, blocked in gilt with Gryphon and Mock Turtle design. Thirteen full colour plates printed on coated paper stock, tissue guards with printed titles .In the publisher's original dustwrapper, priced 8/-net to spine. 2x2cm chip to top of spine of wrapper slight differential fading to cloth as a result. A very nice copy. First edition,first impression. Rackham was the first major illustrator to be tasked with creating new illustrations for Carroll's classic text when copyright ran out in 1907. Although not initially well received Rackham's illustrations are now considered second only to Tenniel's in importance.
